ABOUT MUSICAL THEATRE MASTERY
Tell the truth.
Especially when you sing!
Acting-first training, practical tools, and personal coaching for performers who want every note to mean something.
Musical Theatre Mastery brings voice, acting, and audition preparation together—so the work you do in practice connects to the story you tell on stage.
BRING THE PIECES TOGETHER
A voice lesson here.
An acting class there.
One performer connecting it all.
Training can feel fragmented. You learn an exercise, work on a scene, and collect audition advice—then have to figure out how it all fits together. Musical Theatre Mastery connects those pieces on purpose.
01 / LEARN
Understand the craft.
Explore singing, acting, and audition preparation through free training that gives you ideas to take into your work.
02 / PRACTICE
Make the work practical.
Use tools to explore repertoire, prepare your voice, and bring more structure to the time between lessons.
03 / CONNECT
Get personal guidance.
Work directly with a coach to connect technique and intention in your own songs, scenes, and auditions.
OUR CORE PHILOSOPHY
Technique serves the story.
Every note is also an acting choice. Breath, resonance, phrasing, and vocal freedom matter because they help you communicate what your character wants.
That belief sits at the heart of the Mosaic Method: connecting the pieces of a performance instead of treating singing and acting as separate disciplines.
Start with intention.
Who are you speaking to? What do you need from them? Let the lyric, circumstances, and relationship give your choices direction.
Make technique tangible.
Explore a specific adjustment, notice what changes, and bring it straight back into the song. An idea becomes useful when you can apply it.
Build a process you can repeat.
The goal is more than one good take. Understand what worked and how to explore it again when you practice independently.
THE PERSON BEHIND MTM
Hi, I’m David Jayden Anthony.
I’m a voice and acting coach, pianist, music director, musical theatre writer—and a musical theatre nerd.
My perspective comes from performing material, accompanying it, and understanding how it’s written. I listen for how the voice, the music, and the character’s intention can work together.
I earned my master’s degree in Musical Theatre Writing & Production at Berklee NYC. I’m an OCSA and Young Americans alumnus and former faculty member, and my experience includes working as a pianist for Jason Robert Brown and Stephen Schwartz.
Curiosity. Specific feedback. Room to try again.
In a session, we work with your actual material. I explain what I’m hearing, help you try an adjustment, and connect that discovery to the performance you want to give.
MTM extends that work beyond the studio through training and tools you can return to between sessions.
